Job summary

Sambourne Church of England Primary School in Warminster is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated SENCo to lead our SEND provision and drive strategic development to ensure every pupil thrives.

You will work with staff, parents and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils with SEND, with a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and robust safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Ability to lead and manage SEND provision and coordinate with staff and agencies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the provision for pupils with SEND.
• Ensure the school meets statutory SEND obligations.
• Work with staff, parents, external agencies and governors to secure best SEND outcomes.
• Identify and assess pupils’ needs, coordinate provision, and monitor progress.
• Liaise with class teachers to ensure appropriate strategies and interventions.
• Oversee EHCPs and ensure timely reviews.
• Maintain SEND records and ensure confidentiality.
• Support colleagues in meeting SEND needs.
• Collaborate with external agencies for additional support and staff development.
