Job summary

Academics Ltd in Buckinghamshire is seeking a dynamic SENDCO to join a supportive secondary school from January 2027. You will lead the strategic development of SEND provision, drive achievements and work with external agencies and specialists to deliver tangible impact.

The successful candidate will oversee SEND support, lead a team of around 30 staff in Learning Support, and drive CPD while ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and safeguarding best practice.

Qualifications

• Experience as SENDCO or equivalent leadership in SEND provision.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and safeguarding requirements.
• Proven ability to raise achievement for vulnerable learners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of SEND provision and student support.
• Collaborate with external agencies, educational psychologists and specialists.
• Lead CPD for the SEND department and monitor interventions.
• Manage alternative provision, EAL delivery and exams access.
