Job summary

Bolton St Catherine's Academy is seeking an experienced SENDCo to provide strategic leadership for SEND across the secondary phase. The role includes developing policy, coordinating provision, and supporting staff and pupils with SEN or a disability.

You will manage a team of Teaching Assistants, liaise with parents and external agencies, and ensure high-quality teaching standards underpin SEND delivery. Robust safeguarding and leadership experience required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SEND provision at secondary level.
• Proven ability to develop and implement SEND policy.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with pupils, parents and external agencies.
• Ability to line-manage teaching assistants and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Determine the strategic development of the SEND policy and provision in the school.
• Provide strategic leadership for SEND across the secondary phase to ensure progress.
• Manage day-time operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of provision.
• Line manage the secondary SEND team of Teaching Assistants.
• Provide professional guidance to staff, working with parents and external agencies.
• Lead and deploy staff and resources including SEND team and TAs.
• Build positive relationships with parents and external organisations.
• Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher as per national guidelines.
