Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking a Deputy Head of SEND to lead the strategic focus on early intervention and inclusive practice within the SENDAS Team. The role will work with schools, families and health and social care to ensure timely, appropriate support for children and young people with SEND.

The successful candidate will have substantial SEND leadership experience, a strong understanding of SEND legislation, and a commitment to inclusion, with responsibilities spanning strategic development,

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent professional qualification, NASENCO or significant SEND leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for early intervention, inclusion and SEND system improvement across the local area
• Lead development of effective early identification systems and graduated responses
• Collaborate with schools, families and health and social care to promote inclusive practice
• Lead on SEND reforms, universal offer and targeted support
