Job summary

Kids Planet Cobham is seeking a SENDCO Lead to drive inclusion and tailored support for children with special educational needs. You will lead SEND initiatives, collaborate with families and external agencies, and ensure compliance with Ofsted and EYFS standards.

Qualifications

• Must be Level 3 UK recognised early years qualification with senior level experience.
• Detailed understanding of Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent EYFS understanding and safeguarding knowledge.
• Experience with children with SEND and working with families/outside agencies.
• Ability to demonstrate multi-agency collaboration and lead staff meetings.

How you’ll make a difference as a SENDCO:

• By taking the lead in assisting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to engage fully in learning and reach their potential.
• Through leading collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies to design and implement tailored support plans that meet each child’s needs.
• By taking responsibility for promoting an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.

What a SENDCO needs:

• Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification and experience of working at a senior level.
• Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted.
• Excellent understanding of EYFS.
• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
• Experience of working with children with SEND requirements.
• Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
• Ability to demonstrate multi agency working and experience of leading staff meetings
