Job summary

Sandy Lane Primary School, part of Greenshaw Learning Trust, is seeking an experienced SENDCo to lead our SEND provision and promote inclusive practice across the school. You will work with pupils, families and staff to ensure high-quality support and meaningful opportunities for all learners.

You will oversee statutory responsibilities, coordinate interventions, and manage referrals and EHCP assessments, driving improvement in outcomes, wellbeing and life chances for children with SEND.

• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND.
• Proven track record of strategic SEND leadership.
• High-level analytical skills to monitor assessment data and track progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND provision across the school and integrate SEND with SIP/SEF.
• Coordinate multi-agency referrals, EHCP applications, and case reviews.
• Oversee statutory responsibilities and ensure barriers to learning are removed.
• Collaborate with families, staff and external agencies to support learners.
• Quality assurance of SEND provision in mainstream classes.

In this influential role, you will oversee support strategies, coordinate effective interventions and work alongside staff to ensure that every learner receives the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

About the Role

As SENDCo, you will play a central role in promoting inclusion and ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive high-quality support throughout their educational journey. Working closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies, you will coordinate effective provision, oversee statutory responsibilities and help remove barriers to learning so that every student can participate fully in school life and achieve success.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about inclusion and committed to improving outcomes, wellbeing and life chances for children and young people with SEND.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Lead SEND as a golden thread integrated across the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and self-evaluation (SEF).
• Complete quality assurance, and strategic oversight of SEND pupils in mainstream classes.
• Coordinate multi-agency referrals, statutory EHCP assessment applications, and multi-disciplinary case reviews.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND, pedagogy, and strategic leadership
• Proven track record of strategic SEND leadership or successful leadership of mainstream SEND
• High-level analytical skills to monitor assessment data, evaluate intervention impact, and track progress
