Job summary

Sandy Lane Primary School seeks an experienced SENDCo to lead inclusive provision and ensure high‑quality support for pupils with SEND. The role involves coordinating interventions, working with families and external agencies, and driving statutory responsibilities across the school.

The successful candidate will promote inclusion via strategic leadership, monitor progress with data, and collaborate with staff to remove barriers to learning so every child can participate and thrive.

At Sandy Lane Primary School, we believe that high-quality support and inclusive practice can transform educational outcomes for young people. We are seeking a dedicated SENDCo to lead our SEND provision and help create an environment where all pupils can flourish.

In this influential role, you will oversee support strategies, coordinate effective interventions and work alongside staff to ensure that every learner receives the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

About the Role

As SENDCo, you will play a central role in promoting inclusion and ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive high-quality support throughout their educational journey. Working closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies, you will coordinate effective provision, oversee statutory responsibilities and help remove barriers to learning so that every student can participate fully in school life and achieve success.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about inclusion and committed to improving outcomes, wellbeing and life chances for children and young people with SEND.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Lead SEND as a golden thread integrated across the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and self-evaluation (SEF).
• Complete quality assurance, and strategic oversight of SEND pupils in mainstream classes.
• Coordinate multi-agency referrals, statutory EHCP assessment applications, and multi-disciplinary case reviews.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to SEND, pedagogy, and strategic leadership
• Proven track record of strategic SEND leadership or successful leadership of mainstream SEND
• High-level analytical skills to monitor assessment data, evaluate intervention impact, and track progress
