Job summary

Stockport School in Stockport is seeking an outstanding practitioner for the SEND Year Team Leader HLTA role to support students with SEND. You will lead your Year team’s Learning Support Assistants and coordinate in-class timetabled SEND support, ensuring effective collaboration with SENCO and pastoral staff.

The role requires close liaison with Heads of Curriculum and subject departments to adapt SEND provision and deliver targeted interventions to develop students’ independence.

Qualifications

• Year Team Leader HLTA overseeing assigned Learning Support Assistants.
• Under SENCO, organise, coordinate and lead SEND timetabled in-class support for a Year group.
• Collaborate with Heads of Core Curriculum/Subject departments to support SEND across areas.
• Provide bespoke interventions to develop independence skills for SEND students.
• Appointment subject to satisfactory DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Organise, coordinate and lead the Year team Learning Support Assistants.
• Lead in-class timetabled SEND support for a specific Year group.
• Meet weekly with the Pastoral Head of Year to discuss evolving SEND needs and timetable changes.
• Liaise with Heads of Curriculum/Subject departments to share SEND feedback.
• Deliver bespoke interventions to promote independence and progress.
