Job summary

You will work in Bolton as a Functional Skills Tutor, delivering Maths and English to SEND learners in small groups. The role runs on a fixed 38‑week assignment with weekly Tuesday sessions from 9:15am to 1:15pm, plus 0ne paid hour for marking and planning. A laptop is provided for the duration of the assignment.

Requirements include a PGCE or equivalent, proven experience in Functional Skills Maths and English with SEND learners, DBS on Update Service, and the ability to start immediately.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching Functional Skills Maths and English.
• Experience teaching SEND learners is essential.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• DBS on Update Service is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging sessions: Maths and English for small groups (approx. 12 learners).
• Adapt teaching and resources to meet individual needs.
• Assess learners and monitor progress; provide constructive feedback.
• Complete marking and administration within the paid hour each week.
• Create an inclusive environment to motivate learners to achieve.
