Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised educational support in Sefton. You will deliver individualised 1:1 tuition, adapting sessions to the learner’s needs and helping them develop academically, socially and personally.

The role focuses on learners with SEND, SEMH, autism or ADHD in a calm, supportive setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience.
  • Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • QTS or equivalent desirable.
  • Patient and adaptable approach to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 tuition tailored to learner’s needs across Sefton.
  • Help learners develop academically, socially and personally.
  • Create a calm, supportive and engaging learning environment.

SEND Tutor - Sefton

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised educational support across Sefton!

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for experienced tutors, teachers and mentors to work with children and young people who require additional support with their education.

You’ll provide individualised 1:1 tuition, adapting your sessions around the learner’s needs and helping them develop academically, socially and personally.

The ideal candidate will be confident working with learners who may have experienced barriers to education and will be able to create a calm, supportive and engaging learning environment.

Position Details:
  • Location: Sefton
  • Position: SEND Tutor
  • Hours: 5-15 hours per week
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
  • Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • QTS or equivalent desirable
  • Patient and adaptable approach to learning
To be eligible for this role, you must:
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
