Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Rochdale. The school is rated good by Ofsted and has a welcoming atmosphere within the staff team.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30, supporting children with additional needs. DBS required; TA qualification or health and social care level 2/3 preferred; salary £95-£115 per day with PAYE/Umbrella options.

Qualifications

• An up-to-date DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
• A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
• Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
• At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.

• Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
