Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd in King’s Lynn and surrounding areas is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for flexible short-term and longer-term opportunities. The role involves supporting pupils with SEND in one-to-one or small groups, assisting with differentiated activities, and helping implement IEPs.

We value patience, empathy, and strong communication. Training and safeguarding are integral, with regular PAYE weekly pay and competitive pay depending on experience.

Qualifications

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
• Help implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with staff
• Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Adaptability across different classrooms and school environments
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
