Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants for flexible short-term and long-term placements in King's Lynn and surrounding areas. You will support pupils with SEND, assist in delivering differentiated activities, and help implement IEPs and safeguarding procedures.

This role offers varied placements with immediate starts and ongoing potential, with full-time and part-time options to suit your availability.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

Step Teachers are working closely with a range of schools across King's Lynn and the surrounding area, offering regular opportunities for both short-term and longer-term supply.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
• Help implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with staff
• Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Adaptability across different classrooms and school environments
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Willingness to undertake additional training and development
