Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is recruiting a Secondary Teaching Assistant (SEND) for immediate start in a Good-rated secondary school with a sixth form. The role is full- or part-time, with duties supporting SEND students one-to-one and in small groups, assisting teachers and promoting inclusive learning.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, be patient and adaptable, and able to build positive relationships while safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is essential.
• Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
• Help students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support pupils with academic, social, emotional and communication needs.
• Promote inclusion and ensure access to the curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEND department.
