Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking an empathetic SEND Teaching Assistant to work in primary settings across Croydon. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping with emotion regulation, learning participation, and routine building.

We value calm, patient individuals who understand that behaviour communicates needs. Training and ongoing SEND-focused development, plus a local consultant to support your placements, are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in schools or similar settings.
• Stay calm under pressure.
• Build trust through consistency and kindness.
• Understand that behaviour is communication.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or SEMH.
• Helping children regulate emotions and access learning.
• Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs.
• Creating safe, structured routines.
• Celebrating progress, however small.
