Job summary

Randstad UK in Croydon is seeking an experienced teaching assistant on a supply basis. You will partner with teachers to provide targeted 1:1 and small group intervention, helping pupils overcome emotional obstacles and re-engage with education in a supportive environment.

The role involves assisting with classroom management, lesson prep, and learning activities, while fostering a calm, inclusive setting and monitoring pupil progress. Various support perks are offered.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience with SEMH/SEND environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic and behavioural support to individual pupils or small groups.
• Assist class teachers with classroom management, lesson preparation, and activities.
• Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional self-control and conflict resolution using positive strategies.
• Monitor progress and report achievements or challenges to staff.
• Escort and support pupils during lunch, activities and trips as required.
