Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wellingborough, starting September 2026 on a full-time permanent basis. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, working with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to help pupils access the curriculum and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
• Ability to work with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Commitment to inclusive education and helping pupils access learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND in a mainstream classroom.
• Support children with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties.
• Help pupils access lessons through differentiated activities and personalised support.
• Support literacy, numeracy, phonics and wider curriculum activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
