Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Wellingborough to recruit a Learning Support Assistant - SEND from September 2026. You will work with the class teacher, SENDCO, and wider team to support pupils throughout the school day.

The role emphasizes developing SEND pupils’ confidence and academic skills, with opportunities for professional growth within SEND and education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to adapt to individual children's needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
• Helping children access the primary curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
• Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
• Reinforcing key skills through targeted activities and interventions.
• Supporting children with reading, writing, numeracy, communication, and social development.
• Encouraging pupils to become more confident and independent learners.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children.
