Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming primary school in Wellingborough to recruit a Learning Support Assistant - SEND from September 2026. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and participate in class activities while fostering confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic and resilient, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

Experience supporting SEND or in a similar setting is beneficial.
Able to follow individual plans and adapt approaches to meet needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
Help pupils access the primary curriculum and participate in activities.
Support pupils with needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
Reinforce key skills through targeted activities and interventions.
Support reading, writing, numeracy, communication and social development.
Encourage confidence and independent learning.
Assist with transitions, routines and changes throughout the day.
Support emotional regulation and pupil wellbeing.
Collaborate with teachers, SENDCO, parents and support staff.
