Job summary

Teaching Tomorrow is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Bedfordshire. You will work with teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support for pupils with various needs, including one-to-one and small-group settings.

Ideal candidates are patient, empathetic and adaptable, with strong communication and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and pupils. Flexible, supportive roles offered across multiple schools.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy.
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and mental health needs.
  • Assisting teachers with engaging and inclusive learning activities.
  • Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupils' needs.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop strategies for emotions.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Encouraging independence while providing appropriate support.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents and professionals.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Following individual support plans and school policies.
