Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join Bristol primary schools, supporting children with additional needs to engage and learn.

You’ll provide one-to-one and small-group support, help develop positive learning behaviours and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to ensure successful outcomes.

This role offers flexible working options and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND, behavioural support or intervention work is desirable.
• Empathy, patience and ability to build positive relationships are essential.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions.
• Help children regulate emotions and develop positive learning behaviours.
• Adapt activities to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
• Encourage independence, resilience and self-confidence.
• Support the class teacher and create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers and external professionals.
