Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs across a range of school settings. You will provide 1:1 support, adapt strategies to individual pupils, and work closely with teachers and support staff.

The ideal candidate has SEND experience, confidence with autism and communication needs, and a patient, adaptable approach within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEND
• Strong 1:1 support experience
• Experience in specialist SEND provision or similar
• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs
• Experience with autism and communication needs is desirable
• Patient, consistent and adaptable approach
• Able to work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team

Aspire People are recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with complex and additional needs across a range of school settings.

We are looking for candidates with genuine professional experience who are confident providing consistent 1:1 support and adapting their approach to meet individual pupil needs.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEND
• Supporting pupils with autism, communication difficulties and learning needs
• Helping pupils access the curriculum through personalised strategies
• Supporting communication, social skills and independence
• Assisting with emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Supporting sensory activities and structured routines
• Working closely with teaching and specialist support teams
• Supporting personal care where required
• Recording and feeding back on pupil progress and behaviour

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous professional experience working with pupils with SEND
• Strong 1:1 support experience
• Experience within a specialist school, SEND provision or similar environment
• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs
• Experience with autism and communication needs is highly desirable
• Patient, consistent and adaptable approach
• Able to work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
