Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of needs across primary schools in Manchester and surrounding areas. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum through differentiated activities.

The role requires a calm, patient, nurturing approach, strong communication, and reliability. Opportunities include full-time, part-time, and long-term placements with dedicated consultant support

Qualifications

  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting.
  • Able to provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Experience supporting ASD/ADHD or other needs is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities
  • Supporting communication, social development, and independence
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where required

SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary

Aspire People are currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of primary schools in Manchester and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for caring, patient, and confident individuals who can provide effective 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

The Role:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities
  • Supporting communication, social development, and independence
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where required
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND within a school setting
  • Confident working on a 1:1 basis
  • Experience supporting ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs is desirable
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Able to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to safeguarding
