Aspire People are seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for primary schools in Manchester. Immediate opportunities across full-time or part-time roles with dedicated consultant support.

Ideal candidates have recent SEND experience in a UK primary setting and can provide consistent 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with diverse needs.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of individual pupil needs.
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Reliable and professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, communication and learning needs.
  • Helping pupils access classroom learning.
  • Delivering targeted interventions.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Assisting with transitions and unstructured times.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback.

Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools
Manchester | Immediate Opportunities | Full-Time & Part-Time | Aspire People

Schools are back, and we're currently looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants.

Aspire People are working with primary schools across Manchester who need reliable and experienced support staff to join their teams as soon as possible.

We're looking for Teaching Assistants who already have experience supporting children with additional needs and can confidently provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support.

This could be a great opportunity if you're currently looking for a new school, have recently become available, or are looking for more experience working within SEND.

The Role May Include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, communication and learning needs
  • Helping pupils access classroom learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Assisting with transitions and unstructured times
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback
We're Looking For:
  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Previous experience within a UK primary school
  • Strong understanding of individual pupil needs
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Reliable and professional approach

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous, particularly alongside recent school-based experience.
