Job summary

Simply Education Ltd in Northampton is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our SEN schools. This full-time role runs 8:30 to 15:45, supporting pupils aged 11-18 with SEND to enhance learning, wellbeing and independence.

You will work with individuals and small groups, adapt activities, support personal care, mobility equipment, and behaviour management while promoting inclusion and confidence.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Good understanding of SEND challenges and inclusive education.
• Patient, compassionate, calm, and able to respond positively to challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom and wider school environment.
• Work with individuals and small groups across literacy, numeracy, and ICT.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs and promote inclusion.
• Support students with education, behaviour and personal development plans.
• Promote independence, positive behaviour, social skills and confidence.
• Provide personal care support (toileting, hygiene and meals).
• Assist with mobility equipment and training procedures where required.
• Support with health procedures and respond to illness or injuries following health and safety rules.
• Use positive communication and behaviour-management strategies.
