Job description

Role

As a teaching assistant at the specialist school you will support children with complex needs, working 1:1 with a small mixed‑ability class of 6‑8 pupils. The position is full‑time, permanent, based on approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Teach 1:1 according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning
• Provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the lead teacher
• Support the general wellbeing of learners within the structure of the school
• Monitor and evaluate student learning

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to teach and support learners with complex needs
• Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Teaching assistant experience
• Experience working in SEND settings desirable but not essential
• Eligibility to work in the UK
