This specialist community specialist school is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant / SEN Trainee Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. The role is needed because a current member of the support team is relocating. The school is an independent provision that supports 90 pupils with autism and associated needs. Pupils from the ages of 4 to 19 are taught in both primary and secondary settings within an inclusive, safe and inviting environment where every child can achieve, succeed and break down barriers that may have existed in mainstream education. The senior leadership team is experienced and the school has recently been refurbished, offering bright, free‑flowing learning environments, classrooms, therapy and sensory rooms.
As a Teaching Assistant / Trainee Teacher you will begin as a 1:1 TA and, over one to two years, receive training and qualifications to become a member of the teaching team. Your daily responsibilities will include providing high‑quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and sensory experiences, teaching a broad and balanced curriculum to small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The position is full‑time, Monday to Friday from 08:45 to 16:45.
