Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a Derby-based school. The role involves 1:1 pupil support, small group interventions, and adapting activities to meet individual needs, within both classroom and sensory-friendly spaces.

Hours are about 8:30am to 4:00pm, with DBS checks and safeguarding compliance. The post offers market-rate pay and ongoing CPD opportunities through the My Progression channel.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant SEND support experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 support to pupils with SEND.
• Facilitate small group interventions and adapt learning activities.
• Support pupils in classroom and sensory-friendly spaces.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to support regulation and progress against Pre-Key Stage standards.
