Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a newly established specialist provision in West Kirby. You will support early years and primary learners under a Specialist Base Teacher, helping shape daily practice, sensory spaces, and the inclusive culture of the new hub.

The role involves implementing IEPs, supporting behaviour for learning, and delivering tailored activities within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs, especially ASC, ADHD and ADD.
• Understanding of sensory regulation and communication strategies.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related qualification.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a bespoke, inclusive setting.
• Commitment to promoting a positive, nurturing environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with SEND in a bespoke environment tailored for ASC, ADD, ADHD and communication difficulties.
• Assisting with the implementation of IEPs and BfL strategies.

• Working as part of a close-knit team to provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a bespoke environment tailored for ASC, ADD, ADHD and communication difficulties
• Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and Behaviour for Learning (BfL) strategies
• Promoting positive behaviour, sensory regulation, and communication development
• Working as part of a close-knit team to provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment
• Supporting the delivery of tailored activities to meet individual pupil needs
• Assisting with daily routines and behaviour management as required
