Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Liverpool. You will assist teachers, work 1-1 or in small groups, and help create engaging learning environments for students with ASC, SCLN, or complex needs.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEMH/SEND, a current DBS or willingness to apply, and the right to work in the UK. Roles offer weekly pay and flexible hours tailored to availability.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Experience working in a school environment, supporting pupils in class or 1-1.
  • Current DBS through Update Service or willingness to complete a new application.
  • Valid right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education for all students.
  • Support students on an individual or group basis to access the curriculum independently.
  • Help organise classroom resources, displays, and student groupings to create an engaging learning environment.
  • Work with students to manage sensory needs, implementing sensory diets and self-regulatory strategies as advised by professionals.
  • Support learners in developing independence skills, including personal care where required.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Liverpool

Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for work in Liverpool? Would you like to make a meaningful difference to children with additional needs? We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support SEN schools in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education for all students
  • Support students on an individual or group basis to access the curriculum independently
  • Help organise classroom resources, displays, and student groupings to create an engaging learning environment suitable for pupils with ASC, SCLN, or complex needs
  • Work with students to manage sensory needs, implementing sensory diets and self-regulatory strategies as advised by professionals
  • Support learners in developing or refining independence skills, which may include personal care assistance
Key Requirements:
  • Experience and understanding of supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Experience working in a school environment, supporting pupils either in class or on a 1-1 basis
  • References from the last two years
  • A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete a new application
  • Valid right to work in the UK
