Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) in Wirral to support a pupil with limited speech and independence skills within a modern school.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups to develop communication, literacy, and numeracy skills, promoting inclusive learning and positive pupil development. The role offers flexible working arrangements, including job share opportunities, and a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent required.
• Experience supporting children with speech, language and communication needs or other SEND.
• Enhanced DBS check required; eligibility to work in the UK.
• Paediatric First Aid certification or willingness to complete training.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil with social, communication, and learning needs in one-to-one and small-group settings.
• Assist in developing communication, social interaction, attention, and early literacy and maths skills.
• Support pupil within the classroom to promote inclusion and engagement with peers.
• Build positive relationships and support the pupil's development in line with their care plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting a pupil with their social, communication, and learning needs through one-to-one and small group work.
• Assisting in the development of communication, social interaction, attention, and early literacy and mathematical skills.
• Supporting the pupil within the classroom environment alongside their peers to promote inclusion and engagement.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and supporting their personal development in line with their care plan.

Requirements & Qualifications

• An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.

• Mandatory compliance with an enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
