Job summary

TEAM Inc. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND support assistant to work with a child to overcome barriers to learning, access the curriculum and build confidence and independence.

You will collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide tailored support for emotional regulation, social inclusion and wellbeing, with in-service training and ongoing support. This is a temporary position in a welcoming environment that values teamwork and professional development.

Job description

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to provide 1:1 support for a child with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning, access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence. The role will involve providing tailored support to meet the identified SEND needs of the children, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social inclusion and overall wellbeing. A key part of the role will be building a positive and supportive relationship with the child, while encouraging them to develop increasing independence and participate fully in learning and wider school life. Appropriate in-service training and ongoing support will be provided to enable the successful candidate to understand and respond effectively to the child's individual needs. This is a temporary position and is subject to the child's continued attendance at the school and/or the outcome of any review of their special educational needs.
