Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants for Stoke-on-Trent, starting September, to support pupils with SEMH needs in a classroom setting.

The role is available full-time and long-term, with options for short-term day-to-day work from September. You will assist teaching staff with learning, behaviour management and pupil engagement throughout the school day.

Salary: £100 - £130 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND settings across Stoke on Trent, supporting children who require additional help with their social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The setting provides a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to engage positively with their education and develop their confidence.

TeacherActive are looking to take on SEND TA s on a full-time, long-term basis, aswell as those who are looking for short term day-to-day from September. The successful SEND TA s will work as classroom assistants, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours while assisting teaching staff with learning, behaviour management and engagement throughout the school day.

The successful SEND TA will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND / SEMH needs
• Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours
• Confidence working within a classroom environment
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
