Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting September in OX15/Banbury. You will support children with SEMH and challenging behaviours, helping them engage with learning.

The role involves assisting teachers with learning, managing behaviours, and building positive relationships with pupils in a supportive school environment. The salary is £100-£130 per day, paid PAYE.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND / SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours.
• Confident working within a classroom environment; strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND settings across Oxfordshire, supporting children who require additional help with their social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The setting provides a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to engage positively with their education and develop their confidence.

TeacherActive are looking to take on SEND TA s on a full-time, long-term basis, aswell as those who are looking for short term day-to-day from September. The successful SEND TA s will work as classroom assistants, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours while assisting teaching staff with learning, behaviour management and engagement throughout the school day.

The successful SEND TA will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND / SEMH needs
• Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours
• Confidence working within a classroom environment
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
