Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant in Sunderland for a long-term role starting in September. You will support pupils with complex needs, collaborating with the class teacher to foster engagement, independence and positive outcomes inside and outside the classroom.

The candidate will have Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications, experience with complex needs, and a proactive, patient approach with strong communication and teamwork skills.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND TA on a long-term basis from September. The successful SEND TA will provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs, working closely with the class teacher to promote engagement, independence and positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

The successful SEND TA will have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting children with complex needs
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
