Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Glossop area, supporting children with additional needs.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, helping their academic, social and emotional development; work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide consistent, inclusive support and a safe learning environment. A safeguarding-focused approach is essential.

The Role

• Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting.
• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher is beneficial.
• Patient, nurturing and confident in supporting children with additional needs.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.
• Previous experience in a school or education setting is essential.
