Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is assisting a Rushden secondary school in recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role starts September 2026 and is full-time and permanent. You will work within an inclusive environment to help students achieve their potential.

Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths and demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong communication to collaborate with teachers, families, and the SEND team. DBS check required.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Patient, compassionate, and resilient when supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to support behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

  • Adapt learning resources and teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SEND team, parents, and external professionals to provide high-quality support.

Overview

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a secondary school in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Start date: September 2026. Contract: full-time | permanent. Salary: competitive, dependent on experience. The role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential within an inclusive school environment.

Responsibilities
