Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is recruiting a committed SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school in Romford to start September 2026. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs.

You may deliver 1:1 support, support small intervention groups, or assist within the classroom to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential.
  • Experience in a UK primary school is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND throughout the school day.
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support and small-group interventions.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to learning records where appropriate.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Job description

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Romford is looking to appoint a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026.

About the role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You may work on a 1:1 basis, support small intervention groups, or assist within the classroom to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.

The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping children build confidence and succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities throughout the school day
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support and small-group interventions
