Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with Werneth Primary School in Oldham, is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the Nurture Room. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support for children with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them build confidence and positive learning behaviours.

Ideal candidates are patient, empathetic and able to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.
• A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
• Qualifications or experience within education are desirable but not essential.

The Supply Register is delighted to be working in partnership with Werneth Primary School to recruit a caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the school's Nurture Room.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant within the Nurture Room, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a vital role in helping children develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
