Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Primary Teaching Assistant for the Morpeth area. Immediate start, long-term and full-time placement. The role focuses on supporting children with SEND in a school setting, with daily rates around £120 depending on experience.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, apply behavioural strategies, and adapt support to EHCPs, building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
• Proven track record of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours.
• Experience implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation.
• Experience working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and ability to adapt support.

Responsibilities

• Support SEND pupils including autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH within a school setting.
• Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to aid learning, communication and social development.
• Apply behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management.
• Adapt support to meet individual learning and behavioural needs per EHCPs.
• Maintain a patient, nurturing approach and strong communication with pupils and staff.

Salary: £120 plus per day depending on experience.

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with SEND including: Autism / ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties
• A proven track record of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours in a school or alternative provision setting
• Experience implementing behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management approaches
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions to support learning, communication and social development
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and the ability to adapt support to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
