Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners with complex needs at Liverpool Progressive School. The role involves assisting teachers with curriculum delivery, behaviour management, and providing learning support across classroom, home tuition, and outreach activities.

The ideal candidate has SEND experience and a minimum of two years in a SEND setting; Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous. DBS checks and safeguarding are integral to the role.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities
• Assist with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management
• Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning
• Interaction with parents /care givers on a regular basis

SEND Teaching Assistant - Liverpool Progressive School, Rice Lane, Liverpool, L9 1NR

Purpose of the Role

To support teaching and learning by assisting teachers in delivering education and care to pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teaching Assistant will embody the EPIC values and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes pupil wellbeing and achievement.

The school provides specialist education which supports the educational needs of young people aged 8 – 19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex needs and a range of associated social, emotional, interaction and sensory difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
