Job summary

Envision Education is partnering with a welcoming specialist school in Hemel Hempstead to recruit committed SEND Teaching Assistants. You will support children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) to access learning and develop communication, independence and social skills in a caring environment.

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience with SLD or other complex learning needs is desirable.

• Strong behaviour-management and communication skills.

The role involves supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), helping them access learning and develop their communication, independence and social skills.

As this is a hands‑on role, candidates must be comfortable providing personal care when required.

• Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to children with SLD.

• Assist pupils with personal care needs when required.

For this role, you will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience with SLD or other complex learning needs is highly desirable.
• Confidence providing personal care and hands-on support.
• Strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one, and the ability to commute to Hemel Hempstead.
