Responsibilities

  • Supporting vulnerable young people aged 4-11 and helping to raise aspirations and engagement with learning.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Assisting with learning activities and behaviour support strategies as directed by teaching staff.
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and contributing to meeting their individual needs.
  • Supervising pupils during break and lunchtime periods and encouraging positive social interaction.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to pupil progress reviews and support plans.
  • Preparing learning materials and classroom resources where required.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals.
  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and a safe learning environment at all times.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities.

We are recruiting on behalf of a Primary School in Hemel Hempstead seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 4-11 who require an alternative approach to education due to social, emotional and behavioural needs. The setting provides a nurturing, structured and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes and fulfil their potential.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support and supervise pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning and work towards agreed educational and personal development goals.

You will contribute towards meeting the academic, social, behavioural and emotional needs of pupils while helping to create a purposeful, safe and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate
