Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Liverpool (L15). You will support primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and additional learning needs on a flexible, day-to-day basis, delivering 1:1 and small group support and contributing to engaging activities and inclusive learning.

• Experience working with pupils with SEND in a primary school.

The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant on a flexible, day-to-day basis, supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and additional learning needs. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist with engaging classroom activities, implement individual learning strategies and work closely with the class teacher to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND within a primary school setting
• A strong understanding of positive behaviour management strategies and differentiated learning approaches
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting, positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements
