Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and SEMH across a range of primary and secondary schools in the Manchester area. This is a rewarding role for someone who believes in inclusive education and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties.
  • Work with pupils who have SEMH and behavioural needs.

SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND and social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of primary and secondary schools.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The Role May Include
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Working with pupils who have SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
  • Supporting classroom learning and differentiated activitiesEncouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Able to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
