Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for Primary Schools in Stockport to support pupils with additional needs from September.

You'll provide tailored support to pupils with ASD, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH, and other needs, helping them access learning and participate in school life. Roles may be 1:1 or in small groups, working with teachers and SENDCOs to foster inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people in an educational or related setting.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting SEND pupils.
  • Genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 or in small intervention groups, coordinating with class teachers and SENDCOs.

Aspire People is working with a number of welcoming Primary Schools across Stockport who are looking to recruit caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs from September.

Whether you already have school-based experience or have supported children in another setting, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and successfully participate in school life.

  • Autism (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Other additional learning needs

Support may be on a 1:1 basis or within small intervention groups, working closely with class teachers and SENDCOs.

We're looking for candidates who:
  • Have experience supporting children or young people.
  • Are patient, caring and adaptable.
