Job summary

Aspire People is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support primary pupils with SEND across Manchester, including Autism and communication needs. Roles are available as full-time or part-time, with immediate opportunities and flexibility to start in the coming weeks.

We are seeking patient, calm staff who can provide individualised support, build trusting relationships with children and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to help pupils access learning.

Qualifications

  • Has recent experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Understands Autism and communication needs.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism and communication needs.
  • Helping pupils access classroom learning.
  • Using communication and visual strategies.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and safeguarding.
  • Encouraging social interaction and independence.
  • Supporting transitions and changes in routine.
  • Delivering individual and small-group activities.
  • Working alongside teachers and SENCOs.
  • Monitoring progress and sharing observations.

Are you experienced supporting children with Autism, communication or social interaction needs?


Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support primary pupils with SEND, particularly Autism and communication needs, across Manchester.


We're looking for people who understand that every child communicates and learns differently and who can provide patient, consistent and individualised support.


With schools now back for the new academic year, there are opportunities for experienced support staff who are available to start immediately or in the coming weeks.


The Role May Include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism and communication needs
  • Helping pupils access classroom learning
  • Using appropriate communication and visual strategies
  • Supporting emotional regulation
  • Encouraging social interaction and independence
  • Supporting transitions and changes in routine
  • Delivering individual and small-group activities
  • Working alongside teachers and SENCOs
  • Monitoring progress and sharing observations

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has recent experience supporting children with SEND
  • Understands Autism and communication needs
  • Has experience within a school or similar child-focused environment
  • Is patient, calm and consistent
  • Can adapt their approach to individual pupils
  • Builds trusting relationships with children
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding

A Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification would be advantageous, alongside recent school-based SEND experience.
