Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs. The role offers ongoing support, training and long-term opportunities within a dedicated school team.

Ideal candidates will be patient, reliable and adaptable, with a passion for SEND education. Experience with autism or SEMH is advantageous, and training including DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support pupils throughout the school day to access learning.

Protocol Education is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEND school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and a range of additional learning needs.

Your Responsibilities

You will support pupils throughout the school day, helping them access learning and develop important life and social skills.

Your day may involve:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Working with small groups
• Helping pupils access classroom learning
• Supporting communication and interaction
• Encouraging independence
• Supporting emotional regulation
• Promoting positive behaviour
• Using individualised strategies and resources
• Following EHCP and learning plan targets
• Working alongside teaching and specialist staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
