Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support an autistic pupil in Ferryhill. The role is full time, term time only, with hours 8:30am-3:30pm and pay between £98-£120 per day depending on experience. Start date is September 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to deliver tailored support, encourage engagement, and promote independence and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND, especially autism, is valued but not mandatory.
• All applicants must have the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
• A patient, consistent and positive presence is essential.

We're looking for a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support an autistic pupil within a specialist SEND environment in Ferryhill.

This is a relationship-led role where your consistency and understanding will be hugely important. You'll work alongside teachers and SEND professionals to provide tailored support throughout the school day.
