Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs. The role offers ongoing support, training and long-term opportunities within a dedicated school team.

Ideal candidates will be patient, reliable and adaptable, with a passion for SEND education. Experience with autism or SEMH is advantageous, and training including DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Autism, SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour would be advantageous.
• Patience, reliability and adaptability are essential.
• Willingness to develop professionally through training and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils throughout the school day to access learning.
• Assist on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and develop social and communication skills.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Follow individual learning targets and work with teachers and specialists.
